English Department of the Matugama Education Zone successfully held the English Language Week from February 21 to 28 in almost all 130 schools of the zone.
Principals, teachers and officials of the English Department guided students to participate in the language week activities. Many schools conducted morning assembly in English language during the whole week.
Competitions were held at school level and the winners were awarded.
Lot of schools displayed banners before the school premises announcing the English Language Week.
